Gold Allure Hue

Gold plays a significant role in my family culture. My mother would purchase gold every few months, continuing a tradition from my grandparents' era when gold was a woman's sole asset.

As a dowry, a woman would bring gold from her parent's house to her husband's house, symbolizing financial security, prestige, and power. The more gold a woman wore to religious events, family gatherings, and social occasions, the wealthier she was perceived to be, indicating her husband's care and support.

During a financial crisis, my paternal grandfather sold all of my grandmother's jewelry, including a pair of rare diamond and gold earrings given to her by her mother at the time of her marriage. Thirty years later, my father bought her a similar pair of earrings, restoring her pride and providing solace.

This collection represents a fusion of my enduring appreciation for the traditional value of gold collecting with my more recent embrace of a contemporary lifestyle.
